Speed-Up your Computer
Does it seem like everytime you turn around you
need to buy a new computer? The old one has just gotten too slow!
Even that brand new computer you just purchased 6-months ago is not speedy like when you first plugged it
in. Welcome to the computer world of disk defragmentation.
Think of reformatting like changing the oil in your car
but your computer needs to have its oil changed just once-a-year. Isn't that amazing. A machine that performs
all the day-in/day-out work for you yet, only requires a yearly Oil Change!!
Everyday your computer gets slower due to data continually being changed on your machine. You have two
optimal solutions for speeding up your computer. 1.) Buy a new one 2.) Reformat
Why computers slow down....
It's all in the hard drive disks. Think of the hard-drive as a new fangled CD player or for the older generation, a
record player. The newer generation disks typically spin at a rate of 7,200 rpm. (revolutions per minute) When
you save a file the magnetic needle places data where-ever an open spot is found on the disk. Every file added or deleted
to your computer changes the disk map. To keep your computer running at top-speed we highly recommend defragmenting your
hard-drive on a weekly basis.

Defragmentation
Defragmentation maintenance absolutely can pro-long the need to reformat your computer. It is just one
of the procedures recommended to keep your computer in "Tip Top Shape" Even though computer manufacturers provide their own
defragmentation software we highly suggest Perfect Disk Software.
Explanation of disk map.
There are also many minor adjustments you can do to try and speed up your computer but they are only band-aid approaches.
You will only be prolonging the inevitable decision to purchase or reformat.

MAXIMUM HORSEPOWER!

Reformatting a computer hard drive is the most drastic measure that can be taken to revive the life in your
computer. Reformatting is the best way to once again regain use of your computer. Reformatting can be a difficult
process. Many computer owners never forsee the need to reformat.
The marketplace has never suggested the reformat process is as necessary as changing oil in your
car.
If you don't change your cars engine oil the motor will burn up. If you don't
reformat your computer will get slower and slower and then finally freeze, or die. This is when most people go to the store
and purchase a new computer.
You don't have to live with this! We will show you how you can prolong your yearly computer "OIL-CHANGE".
Think about it... Why would a seller of "New" computers suggest reformat when they would rather sell a new computer to you? Why would a seller of software suggest
reformatting when a natural tendency is to update your software to the latest version with your new computer system?
Why would printer, camera, scanner, and misc. other computer accessory manufacturers suggest reformat when
again they expect you to buy their new accessories to go along with that new computer.
Built-in obsolescence has been designed into your computer!
Are we saying you should never buy a new computer?
There are times when it is most cost-effective to purchase a new computer. We believe these times are just not as often
as computer hardware and software manufacturers would have you believe.
You should first determine what you would like your computer doing for you? If your use is just for email and Instant
messanger even a Windows 95 machine could be more power than you need.
We like to update our machines about every 4-years. We never buy the latest and greatest equipment when purchasing
new. You can purchase technology that is just 3-6 months old and still have a very hi-tech cutting edge machine. We do
like having fast computers!
You should also consider heat and noise when purchasing a new computer. The faster the processor, the more heat
produced. The faster the processor, usually the more noise produced due to size and speed of fans required to reject the
heat. This is a simple law of physics and heat-loss calculations. Nothing is 100% efficient!
Note: new dual-core processor produce less heat, therefore less noise, however now you have two processors running in
parrallel at reduced speeds rather than a single very fast processor.
You will gain the latest video, and audio technology. You will gain faster processor and bus-speeds.
Like reformatting you will still need to reinstall all the applications you use. Some of the "favorite" applications
you use may not work correctly on this new machine. Some of the printers, scanners, cameras, etc. may not work
properly on your new machine. With both the reformatted machine and the new computer your email will be starting as a
blank sheet. Both machines will require reconfiguring for internet use. Both machines will require
transfer of your backed-up/archived document files.
Have you noticed that after about 6-months this new computer starts exhibiting the same slowness, sluggish
behavior as the old machine you decided to replace it with?
How can I keep my computer running fast?
As part of our reformat service we will provide a "Free" tips sheet that shows how to store files on your
computer. We will share what computer maintenance procedures should be used to keep your computer in the best running shape. We will show you
how to prepare for your next reformat. Many experts suggest reformatting on a yearly basis to keep your computer in
top running shape. Knowing how to store files will make re-installation of your backed-up files and programs a
procedure rather than a chore!
What other options do I have rather than reformat?
A complete list of other computer maintenance procedures can be found here.
